Becoming a member of a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a great way of connecting with local farms and farmers. The model is often used by growers of produce such as fruit, vegetables and flowers. In exchange for pledging to support the grower by purchasing a share of the harvest in advance, members are rewarded with a weekly supply of fresh blooms throughout the growing season. This approach is common in the US & Canada and starting to gain popularity in Australia.
What is the Flower Farm Collective CSA?
Pre-purchased shares for our Spring, Summer or Autumn growing season. Your upfront payment allows us to purchase bulbs, seeds and plants and better plan for the growing season ahead.
What will I receive?
You’ll receive a wrapped bouquet of flowers weekly for 13 weeks (depending on your subscription). They’ll be ready to put straight into a vase or gift to a friend. The bouquet will contain a seasonal mix of blooms and foliage grown and gathered on our properties near Dungog NSW. Both Sugarloaf Lane and Four Acre Farm use organic farming methods so you can be guaranteed of receiving fresh, local and chemical free flowers.
Can I skip a week if I am away or don’t want my share for some reason?
Unfortunately no. Consider splitting your share with a friend if you think weekly flowers will be too much or ask a friend to collect your bouquet if you can’t make it one week.
Where is the collection point?
Pickup of bouquets is between 9-3pm every Thursday at Chillbillies Cafe, Dowling Street.
We are also offering free delivery to Dowling Street, Dungog.
Pickup of bouquets is between 8-3pm every Monday at Momo Newcastle.
Please note: You must pick up from the location specified in your subscription.
Your flowers will have been picked within 24 hours of you collecting them so you can be assured that they will be fresh and long lasting. Place your flowers in a vase one third full of water, giving them a fresh cut as you do. We recommend changing the water daily and keeping them in a cool location out of direct sunlight.
Sometimes we will have extra bouquets or produce for sale at the pickup point. We will let you know via email or social media if this is the case.
